In addition to 'Gold, Silver, Bronze' 'High Distinction' accolades (see 'Judging Guidelines'), each year WASMEx announces a series of perpetual trophies and prizes. In all cases, except where indicated below, the awards are determined by the judging panel.
NEW FOR 2026 - "Best Ofs" In addition to the individually assessed Gold, Silver, Bronze gradings and existing perpetual awards, the committee has decided to introduce a group of “Best ofs” for the categories listed below to meet the true nature of a competition.
BEST AIRCRAFT
BEST MILITARY VEHICLE
BEST CIVILIAN VEHICLE
BEST FIGURE / BUST
BEST SCI FI / FANTASY / REAL SPACE
BEST WATERCRAFT
BEST GUNDAM
The list of perpetual annual awards is as follows:

Each of these awards are associated with a handsome trophy that the winner notionally holds for one year until the next WASMEx. Please note that in order to simplify logistics WASMEx maintains physical possession of each trophy throughout the year.
Details regarding each perpetual award, especially which subjects are eligible for each award, can be found here. We strongly urge anyone thinking of building a model with a particular award in mind to check that their subject falls within the eligibility criteria for that award.
In addition to these annual awards the WASMEx committee - from time to time - can admit individuals to the 'W.A. Modeller's Hall of Fame'. Hall of Fame admission is awarded to individuals who have made a significant, positive contribution to the W.A. scale modelling scene. This can be either through displaying the very highest standards in the art / craft of modelling or through making a sustained, positive contribution to the W.A. scale modelling community. Admission to the 'Hall of Fame' is generally made at the WASMEx annual prizegiving.
